First, begin a new drawing From Scratch.  Next select Dimension Style from the Format menu.

Select  the New… button and choose Linear dimensions in the Use for drop down.  In addition to selecting the dimensions that the new Dimension Style will be used for, you can determine which dimension style the new one is based on .

Select the Continue button.
