AutoCAD - The Basics

No AutoCAD experience is necessary, but participants are expected to be comfortable opening, saving and closing files; moving, copying and deleting files; locating files in different folders and reading blueprints. Participants are introduced to the AutoCAD drawing environment and the necessary skills to begin creating and editing drawings. The focus of this course is on using accurate and efficient techniques to drawing and modifying basic shapes.

Exercises for the workshop are drawn from a variety of disciplines, including part design, facility layout, architectural drafting and schematics. Participants for each workshop are surveyed to determine their areas of interest and when possible, exercises are tailored to match the needs of the workshop attendees.

Register  (pdf, 38kb) Length: 3 Days        Price: $795

AutoCAD - Beyond The Basics

Participants are introduced to complex objects and editing methods as well as styles to manage text, dimensions and leaders. Additional text and dimension commands are presented. Techniques for using layouts and viewports to create multi-scale, multi-page designs are explored. Participants will create libraries of reusable shapes (blocks) and add changeable text (attributes) to the blocks.

Experience with the topics covered in the AutoCAD ‑ The Basics course is necessary as this workshop builds on these concepts.

AutoCAD - Advanced Concepts

Participants learn to leverage existing data by linking drawing (xref) and image files using the reference manager, coordinate information in text, attributes and dimensions using fields and generate tables, bills of material and schedules directly from blocks and other drawing data using a variety of techniques.  Participants also learn to improve efficiency by customizing the user interface, developing templates and establishing CAD standards.

Experience with the topics covered in the AutoCAD - The Basics and AutoCAD - Beyond the Basics courses are necessary as this workshop builds on the concepts learned in these courses.

AutoCAD - CAD Manager Essentials

This seminar will outline AutoCAD techniques CAD Professionals can employ to improve drawing efficiency, implement consistent procedures and facilitate more seamless exchange of drawings between individuals, clients and vendors.

Who Should Attend

Participants learn how templates are created to provide the initial formatting and printing parameters for new drawings, develop CAD Standards to check and fix drawings that do not match the formatting standards of their department and use eTransmit to facilitate the exchange of drawings between clients and vendors.

Participants should have a basic understanding of AutoCAD.

AutoCAD - Introduction to AutoLISP

This two day workshop covers the fundamentals of Autolisp programming for the AutoCAD user. Participants will learn the basics of programming, beginning with the fundamentals of Autolisp, understanding data types, working with variables, getting user input and planning a program.  They will learn to calculate points used with AutoCAD commands in programs to automate the drawing of figures.  Functions related to selecting and modifying objects via Autolisp rather than AutoCAD commands will be  introduced.  Numerous programming examples will be explored that participants can use in developing their own applications.
